Components of notepad:

Title Bar

Displays default/file name of the document.
Displays the application name.
Displays the control menu.
Displays 3 buttons.

The control menu icon of the application window has a menu list that enables the user to control the size and location of the window.

Menu bar

The notepad window has a limited set of menu items in the menu bar. On clicking the menus on the menu bar the respective sub-menus will be pulled down on the screen like this.
Text Area

This is a white portion of the document window where we can create our documents.
The text area, in other words, can called work area .
The files of Notepad are stored with extension – “.tet.”
Here we do not have any tool bar that helps to format the text.
It is similar to a typewriter.

There are only limited features available in the Notepad.
They are ‘Set Font’, Search, Time/Date, Word wrap.

SET FONT
It’s feature helps to change the style, size and type of the alphabet.

SEARCH
It’s feature helps to find the required word in the document.

TIME/DATE
It’s feature of Note pad displays the system date and time in the document.

WORD WRAP
It is a special feature available in the computer. It is not necessary to bring the cursor to the next line. The computer itself will bring the cursor to the next line when the typed text exceeds the current line.

Even through Notepad is a word processor, it does not have any advanced features like WordPad or MS-WORD. It is widely used by the Explorer files to copy the text from the Internet. It does not have a status bar too.
